[Solved] Build error when using Visual Studio 2019 with Clang compiler

I've recently switched from VS2017 to VS2019 and since it now has built-in support for Clang, I tried to build one of my plug-ins using it, but is failing to compile because of 2 errors: 1>C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2019\Community\VC\Tools\MSVC\14.26.28801\include\deque(872,50): ...

Re: AAX wrapper in Pro Tools v10 - Empty GUI

Awesome! Thanks a lot Ray!
Just got it to work by passing kNSView to the CFrame::open(...) when opening the GUI.

[Solved] AAX wrapper in Pro Tools v10 - Empty GUI

Hello, just wanted to know if the actual AAX wrapper available in the latest VST3 SDK (v3.6.12, with AAX SDK v2.3) is supposed to support Pro Tools 10. I'm asking because 2 of my testers, both with PT10 on OSX 10.9 are facing the same issue: the plug-in works but the GUI is basically empty, nothing ...

Re: File selector crash on OSX 32bit app (Bad Access)

Hi Federico, This probably happens due to the fact that 32 bit VST2 is hosted using Carbon instead of Cocoa, so statically casting frame->getPlatformFrame () to a NSViewFrame* pointer yields an invalid pointer. Maybe try using a dynamic cast here and assume it's a HIViewFrame if you obtain a nullpt...

File selector crash on OSX 32bit app (Bad Access)

Hello, I've been reported that one of my plug-ins crashes as soon as the user tries to open a file selector. This only happens on 32 bit plug-ins and the issue happens systematically, as I've just installed Reaper 32bit on my Mac and experienced the same issue. The 64 bit version works perfectly (I ...

Re: [HiDPI] CFrame always returns scale factor 1

Got it to work, btw... On OSX it worked straight out of the box by setting the bitmap scale factor, while on Windows I just had to check if the process was HiDPI aware and then set the zoom factor and adjust the main window size according to the OS settings. One thing I've noticed though, is that th...

Re: [HiDPI] CFrame always returns scale factor 1

Thanks for the quick reply! first of all, you have to setup your bitmaps as I described to you here: https://sdk.steinberg.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=594 . I know, but I just want to test the functionality, so I'm just using a single image version sized for 1.5x support and declaring its scale factor a...

[Solved][HiDPI] CFrame always returns scale factor 1

Hello, I've finally got some time to experiment with HiDPI support, but I can't seem to be able to make it work... I have a laptop with 1.5 scaling factor, I've created all my images with that scale factor in mind. In VSTGUI I create the CBitmap* and then call: myBitmap->getPlatformBitmap()->setScal...

Supporting HiDPI programmatically (no UIDescription)

Hello, I'm looking for some guidance in order to start supporting hidpi displays like Retina in my VSTGUI based plug-ins. I'm not using the xml descriptor, so I need to figure out how to support this programmatically. AFAIK the standard approach is to use 2 (or more) versions of the same image with ...
