Re: ASIO crashes in bsnes emulator with e.g. ESI Juli@

. . Arne, Yvan, could you please take a look at this issue? Please note that byuu software is not just regular software. It’s bsnes and higan — the world’s most accurate and incredibly popular open-source emulators of Nintendo’s 8/16-bit game consoles. According to byuu, the ASIO code used in bsnes...

+ Improve file naming

Fwiw, I updated the file-name example in my previous message to make the file name even more readable:
  • added a hyphen between “vst” and “sdk”;
  • replaced the hyphen with underline between the version and build numbers.

Improve file naming

Btw, didn’t you consider to improve file naming? There are currently three issues: 1. Version number dots are omitted , so we have 3613 instead of 3.6.13. There is no point in omitting dots in file names (e.g. dotless filenames are not safer unlike e.g. the space character that requires percent enco...

2018 instead of 2019 in the VST SDK 3.6.13 file name + better naming

Can’t find a way for posting comments in the 3.6.13 release announcement itself, hence this topic. Looks like Steinberg forgot to update the year part of the VST SDK file name from 2018 to 2019. The current file name: vstsdk3613_08_04_201 8 _build_81.zip The probably correct file name that should ha...

Re: VST SDK on github?

I don’t use Git (and don’t have it installed) itself at all (fwiw, my VCS is Mercurial). For me, GitHub version of the SDK would just be a way to get the most up-to-date version and probably create some pull requests via the GitHub Desktop application. GitHub user is not necessarily a Git user.

[Solved] 3.6.7 is not available at /company/developers.html

The new 3.6.7 version of VST SDK is not exposed via a link on the Developers page of Steinberg’s site that still contains the older 3.6.6.

P.S. Since the announcement thread is locked for unknown reason, I was forced to create this new topic to report this.

Re: VST SDK on github?

Why not make VST SDK simply entirely downloadable/cloneable like other projects on GitHub?

In the current state, VST SDK cannot be considered really available via GitHub.

Empty

So, the VST 3 SDK is now on GitHub. Have a look at https://github.com/steinbergmedia/vst3sdk. Great, but all subfolders are empty , so the repo effectively contains just the 5 files: .gitmodules CMakeLists.txt LICENSE.txt README.md index.html with the total size of 18 KB (8 KB zipped) and not the V...

The real issue

I suspect the real reason why VST SDK has still not been (and is apparently not actually going to be) moved to GitHub is that VCS software like Git provides access to all previous versions which wouldn’t contain the up-to-date copyright information of Steinberg (e.g. header comments in source C++ fi...
