VSTGUI on iOS without VST SDK

Is this possible? I've mostly finished porting my OSX application to iOS and now I'd like to ditch the VST SDK. On OSX and Windows, we simply derive our editor from PlUGGUIEditor. Will this trick work for iOS as well?

Opps, the function is infact being called, but for some reason my debugger wasn't properly breaking.

VSTGUI on iOS -- onMouseUp()

I'm having some issues getting some of my custom controls working properly under iOS. In response to touch input, I can see that onMouseDown is called properly, but for some reason there's no corresponding onMouseUp call. Is there something I need to do to get onMouseUp calls?

White screen when running InterAppAudio examples in simulator

Using xCode 7.3 on two different machines running Yosemite and El Capitan, I'm able to to run the the interAppAudio examples in the iOS Simulator, but the UI doesn't show up. It just shows a blank white screen. Any ideas?

It results in views not being updated properly unless explicitly calling invalid() on them....

Can't you set a breakpoint somewhere to find out what's changing the cursor back? I'm surprised that it's demanding enough to cause dropouts. Are you calling invalid() anywhere? I ask because calling invalid()--especially on the entire frame--involves a lot of drawing and might explain the dropouts....
