Re: Best Practice // Extended View

I think you have to create two things. First a subclass of CTextEdit where you need to override the onKeyDown method and inform the second thing you create namely a sub-controller which can create your custom CTextEdit class and control what should happen if a key down happens.

Re: Sub-Controller

Hi,
the dependency stuff was removed in between, you should now use CControl::registerControlListener to be notified for control value changes.
I made a note to update the documentation accordingly in the next release.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Studio One v4 + Factory Presets

Hi Will,
what about the JX10 mda synthesizer from the SDK? It also has a program list. Does it work in Studio One?
But I really don't know why this happens.

Re: Connect Multiple Parameters?

There's support in VSTGUI to connect two parameters to a XYPad. See vst3padcontroller.cpp. But nothing generic.

Re: note expression is received as ParameterChange

Hi, as long as I know, the JUCE library does not support VST Note Expression. To get Note Expression working, you need your edit controller class to inherit from INoteExpressionController and return your supported note expressions. If you have done this, the note expression name should be shown in t...

Re: [Linux] VST3 and Wayland

Hi,
last time I checked Wayland was not able to embed child windows. Has this changed? Did they even think about this kind of embedding? I did not found any discussion about it either.

Re: [Linux] How to deal with keyboard event

Hi, I'm not very familiar with X11 but if forwarding events work, then the plug-in editor should handle keyboard events if it has focus. If a keystroke is not consumed by it, then it should forward the event to the parent window. If forwarding events doesn't work, then the host should handle all thi...

Re: VSTGUI4 and pure opengl editor

It would be better if you organize your code so that you don't need to call makeCurrentContext more than needed.
There are currently no plans to add any changes to the OpenGL stuff as it is deprecated on macOS.

Re: Global Steinberg::gPluginFactory variable

You cannot make any assumption if a host will create only one factory or more.
